Press interview with Don Dovaston, Assistant Chief Constable of Derbyshire, about the shooting of a soldier outside an army careers office in Derby. 34-year-old Sergeant Michael Newman of the Royal Signals Corps died in hospital and leaves a wife and a young daughter. His father collapsed from a heart attack on hearing the news of the shooting. The Irish National Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack. Broadcast on Radio Trent.
