Elena Curti reports on the Department of Transport’s fresh alert to airports and airlines about the danger of radio cassette bombs, and the intensifying pressure on Transport Secretary Paul Channon to give a statement on the Lockerbie bombing. Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown is disappointed that no statement has been made. Sir Hector Monro, Conservative, talks about the need for a definitive account of the Department’s security alerts prior to the bombing, and whether Channon’s leaking information claiming to know who the bombers are was done in order to deflect interest in the alerts.
