- Description
- Des Fahy reports on a Commons debate after Prime Minister John Major accuses Labour Party deputy leader Margaret Beckett of lying about reports of patients being refused hospital treatment because of their age. Speaker Betty Boothroyd orders Major to withdraw the remark but he merely rephrases the comment. Labour MP Dennis Skinner asks if he can be retrospectively forgiven for previous occasions when he has done the same.
