- Description
- A strike by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers left London’s transport links severely disrupted today, although the Chiltern line was running. Divisional Director for the Chiltern Line, Dick Fern explains that most of the line’s drivers belong to ASLEF. Also on strike were London bus crews. Director of Finances for London Buses, Rodney Pangbourne, believes support for industrial action is fading. General Secretary of the RMT, Jimmy Knapp, says the ball is in the manager’s court; Ronnie Jacobson, spokesman for the Chamber of Commerce, calls for a resolution to the dispute. David Kermode reports for LBC Drivetime.
