Paul Chapman reports on a press conference by UK Prime Minister John Major laying down a five point plan for residents in Hong Kong including dropping the visa requirement to visit the UK (although won’t be eligible for residence) leading up to the colony being handed over to China. Major says the legislative council Ledge-co should run to the end of its 4-year term despite China’s wishes.
