- Report on the crash of the Soviets’ Cosmos 954 satellite near Great Slave Lake, Canada (24/01/78). Despite US early assurances that there had been no nuclear matter on board, it was subsequently admitted that some risk may have been posed by radiation. Cosmos 986 has already been sent into orbit. Includes press statement by State Department spokesperson Jill Schuker. Male American reporter not identified.
