Havovi Todd reports on the launch by Environment Secretary John Gummer of two new major projects in the Docklands area of East London: the completion of the Docklands Light Railway extension to Beckton and London’s first urban village on the Royal Victoria Dock with the building of 1500 new homes on a 78 acre site.
