Conservative MP Peter Thurnham has resigned the party whip ostensibly over the Scott Report into the sale of arms to Iraq, leaving the Government with a shaky Commons majority of just two. His constituency association chairman, Norman Critchley told the BBC’s Newsnight that Thurnham thought long and hard before coming to the decision.
