- Greenpeace and Lancashire County Council have failed in their attempts to block a nuclear reprocessing plant, with Judge Justice Potts ruling Environment Secretary John Gummer and Agriculture Minister Gillian Shepherd acted within their powers to allow BNFL to release radioactive emission into the air and the Irish Sea. But they did not have to pay costs.
