Health Secretary Stephen Dorrell defends the Government’s proposed rise in NHS prescription charges, claiming that it is only those able to pay who will feel the effect of the rises. In response to earlier criticism by Dr John Chisholm of the BMA, Dorrell says it is a good thing that the public connect prescription charge rises with NHS staff pay rises.
