Description

Ministers are planning a 25% cut in social security running costs. It’s thought that thousands of staff in DSS offices could be replaced with more advanced computers and contracting-out of services. Anna Coote, Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Policy and Research, says the cuts could be doubly damaging, as staff who are laid off will return to claim benefits under the system.
