Foreign Secretary Douglas Hurd has denied allegations contributions had been made to the Conservative Party as part of the deal for the Pergau Dam in Malaysia. Speaking to the Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee today he admitted a link between arms sales and aid to Malaysia in the 1980’s under the then Defence Secretary, Lord George Younger, but denied the Foreign Office had ever approved such a link.
