- Nicky Broyd reports as Operation Desert Storm in Iraq enters its second week with US President George H. W. Bush’s speaking to American reservist military officers in Washington. Bush says America will stay the course and succeed. Iraq claims civilians are being killed in the air strikes and civilians are in need of humanitarian aid. Injured RAF navigator Michael Heath speaks about having to ditch their Tornado jet in Saudi Arabia, he and pilot Peter Patterson have been repatriated to an RAF hospital in Swindon.
