British Gas has denied that Chief Executive Cedric Brown will get a multi-million pound payout when he retires in April. His job is disappearing as part of a restructuring plan which will split the company in two. Labour’s Consumer Affairs Spokesman Nigel Griffiths is sceptical about the benefits of the split for the public, and says it should be overseen by ministers.
