- The second phase of the government’s Options for Change cutbacks in the British Army, with the redundancies of 6,500 officers and men. Peter Deeley FM Drivetime show telephone interview with Major Paul Pearson of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers from Bosnia. Pearson confirms all 76 soldiers in Bosnia and Croatia volunteered for redundancy and there were only 8 compulsory redundancies among the 17 officers. Argues this will not affect the strength of the operation in the former Yugoslavia.
