NATO’s threat of an air strike against Serbian forces has been lifted after Serbian troops removed heavy weapons from around Sarajevo. With reaction from Britain’s ambassador to the UN Sir David Hannay; US ambassador to the UN Madeleine Albright; Bosnian ambassador to the UN Muhamed Sacirbey. US President Bill Clinton spoke with Boris Yeltsin and in a statement read by Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers thanked the Russians for their contribution to the peace effort.
