Description
Paul Rowley interviews Health Secretary, Virginia Bottomley on the announcement of the Government’s twelve million-pound compensation scheme for people infected with HIV as a result of NHS blood transfusions. Previously only haemophiliacs were compensated - but now, following an all-party campaign, the scheme has been extended. Payments will be between forty and eighty thousand pounds, with the families of patients who have died also qualifying for payouts.
