Description
A severely burned survivor of the 1987 King’s Cross fire has been awarded £650,000 in damages. The last-minute settlement at the High Court was for New York-born Ron Lipsius who had hoped to be a top composer of advertising jingles before the fire. He is disappointed with the legal outcome and remains bitter towards London Underground. However, his wife Sally says she is pleased that the prospect of a lengthy court case is over. Anne Laker of London Transport speaks in defence of London Underground. Jeff Collins reports. The clip includes reporter Lindsay Taylor’s original coverage from the scene of the fire.
