- Description
- David Addis reports on reaction to the Clothier Report, in which hospital staff were criticised for missing vital clues to what was happening. Nurse, Beverley Allitt was found guilty of murdering four children in her care. Health Secretary, Virginia Bottomley says the blame lies with Beverley Allitt. Shadow Health Spokesman, David Blunkett says the NHS should take some responsibility. Hospital manager Alistair Stewart says lessons have already been learned. COHSE spokesman Bob Quick says the staff are being made scapegoats. General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, Christine Hancock says the managers are also to blame. David Crampton, father of one of Allitt’s victims, says it is important that this should never happen again.
