Foreign Secretary, Sir Geoffrey Howe defends Britain’s decision to be represented at the funeral of Japan’s Emperor Hirohito by himself and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He says the atrocities of the Second World War will never be forgotten but the Japan of today is a different place with which Britain is building a future. Peter Murphy reports.
