- Prime Minsiter Margaret Thatcher has visited the headquarters of the Automobile Association (AA) in Basingstoke to meet with staff who helped in the rescue work at the Clapham, Lockerbie and M1 disasters. AA patrolman Geoff Redmond describes his part in the M1 disaster, when he pulled the dead from vehicles. Thatcher praises the job done by rescue workers. Peter Henley reports.
