- Description
- US Vice-President George Bush on US relations with the USSR. He thinks they might be at a turning point. Regrettably, Soviet leader Yuri Andropov is extremely ill even though the world has been told his condition is not serious. Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau is putting a focus on the world’s desire for the reduction of tensions and weapons. He feels that US President Ronald Reagan has been flexible and taken the initiative to do things such as get rid of chemical weapons. The alliance has stayed together in terms of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) deployment. The USA really does want a reduction in arms and it is serious about achieving this.
