Description

British squadron leader Brian Freesman(?) on the withdrawal of troops from Cyprus to ships offshore. He explains that they were called out this morning at 3 o’clock for a possible evacuation. The decision of whether or not they were going to pull out was then reached and they began to withdraw. Their job was to lift out all the heavy equipment. They could see that Beirut was under fire from American ships that were shelling the shore. Male interviewer not identified.
