Mark Mardell reports from the NUT conference, where new guidelines have been handed out to teachers on how many hours they should work and what they should do after the Government job descriptions are imposed on them. Divisional secretary Mike Loosely(?) believes the guidelines to be a sign of capitulation on the part of the union, but NUT leader Fred Jarvis says they are an attempt to avoid the exploitation of teachers.
