As teachers go on strike to protest against working conditions and wages, Fred Jarvis of the NUT claims that teachers will change the Government’s position through industrial action. Jarvis says the Secretary for Education, Kenneth Baker, must change his stance in the interests of the pupils. Nigel de Gruchy of the NASUWT says the strikes will not affect pupils’ examination results. Male reporter not identified.
