- Description
- Ian MacGregor, head of the National Coal Board, is interviewed on the miners’ strike action. He is dismissive of what he sees as the usual appeal by some leaders to raise the emotional temperature. The interviewer explains that in Sheffield today many moderate miners’ leaders, including Ray Chadburn from Nottinghamshire, got a rough ride from a large number of miners. MacGregor says they (the NCB?) were in Asfordby today, looking at the future, which is what all miners should be doing. Male interviewer not identified.
