Simon Hobbs interviews Education Secretary Kenneth Clarke on an inquiry report demanding a shake up of primary school teaching methods. The report has called for traditional teaching methods to return, and Clarke describes the problems behind the need for the changes and the reform proposals, which include specialist teachers for specialist subjects, and grouping by ability. He says the changes won’t be forced on teachers.
