Mark Mardell reports on electricians’ union leader Eric Hammond’s visit to the Trades Union Congress, during which he was jeered and booed by striking printworkers. Tony Dubbins of the NGA says throwing the Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications and Plumbing Union (EETPU) out of the TUC would help the situation. SOGAT 82’s Brenda Dean says newspaper distribution is not getting any better. (In context of printers’ dispute at News International at Wapping).
