Kevin Murphy reports on the news conference given by Japanese Foreign Minister, Sosuke Uno during his visit to London. Speaking through an interpreter, Uno defends Emperor Hirohito for failing to prevent the Second World War, thanking Britain for the decision to send Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Foreign Secretary, Sir Geoffrey Howe to the Emperor’s funeral, and claiming Japan had already apologised to British POWs and compensated them.
