- Description
- Paul Woodley reports from New York for LBC Newstalk breakfast, where President George H W Bush has given a press conference after the breakdown of talks between US Secretary of State, James Baker and Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz aimed at preventing war in the Gulf prior to the UN withdrawal deadline of 15th January. He says Aziz spoke too much about Palestine when the real issue is Iraqi withdrawal from Kuwait. Canadian ambassador Yves Fortier says the UN Secretary General is the best person to try to broker peace.
