- Report on peace talks on the Gulf crisis between US Secretary of State, James Baker and Iraqi Foreign Minister, Tariq Aziz breaking down in Geneva, with war after the UN deadline for Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait of 15th January now more likely. At a press conference Baker says there was no Iraqi flexibility in the talks. Aziz says Iraq knows the facts about the situation. Tariq Aziz refused a letter from US President George H W Bush to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein because of the language in the letter. Simon Israel reports from Geneva. For FM breakfast show.
