Defence correspondent Paul Maurice reports from Saudi Arabia where the Desert Rats and royal engineers are doing final training manoeuvres before the UN deadline for Iraq to pull out of Kuwait on 15th January after which military action is likely if talks between US Secretary of State James Baker and Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz fail to resolve the crisis. He talks to Colonel John Morgan(?), the commanding officer of 21 engineer regiment, who describes the exercise. Audio quality poor. For FM breakfast show.
