- Phil Edwards reports on the cleanup operation and pollution effects beginning to be seen from an oil-slick from the MV Braer tanker carrying 85,000 tonnes of crude oil that was stricken off the Shetland Islands in high winds. Winds have carried the oil onto grazing lands and crops as well as affecting marine wildlife. Includes interviews with Pollution Control Unit Chief Scientific officer Dave Bedburgh(?) and local councillor Willy Tate.
