Lindsay Taylor reports on the official release of secret papers held at the public record office in Kew under the thirty-year rule, revealing that the Penny Report into the Windscale nuclear plant fire in 1957 was censored. According to the documents, UK Prime Minister Harold Macmillan ordered that the report should be re-written after warnings it would damage public confidence in the nuclear industry.
