- Description
- Ian Fenn reports from the New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square, London, where the new tight restrictions on revellers saw just fifty-four arrests, twenty-nine of them for drunkenness, as a huge crowd gathered to see in 1994. The ambulance service says a dozen people needed medical attention but no-one was seriously hurt. Ninety thousand people, ten thousand fewer than in the previous year, packed into the Square to celebrate. Includes vox pop (including street seller named Lee Harding(?)); crowd noise; missing persons announcement; bagpipe music; fireworks; car horns.
