Tonight, we have our 3rd guest in this occasional series, in which we talk to leading figures from the world of Politics and Literature, to know how they see things which will shape the world in the next decade. This evening, the guest is a prominent diplomat. Born in Guiana, he read Law in London, and become the Guiana Foreign Affair in Justice Minister in 1972. Then he took on the role of Vice-President of the United Nations, and in 1975, he became Secretary General of Commonwealth Secretariat. Last year, at the Lusaka Commonwealth Head of State Meeting, he was elected for a further 5 years, and is tipped to become the next Secretary General of the United Nations. With all these qualifications together with his knowledge current affairs in Zimbabwe and Rhodesia, make him an eminent guest today for Radio Victory Report, with this question: How does Mr Rampahel see Zimbabwe’s chances of emerging as a strong secure African democracy by the end of a decade, after the recent election of Robert Mugabi as Prime Minister?
