Linkline: Asthma, presented by Jane Buxey. Interview with Doctor Alan Matthews from Portsmouth. He talks about Asthma. He says that 10 percent of the population, experience this kind of sensation in some part of their lives. It is often mistaken by bronchitis. He says that this is the First National Asthma Week and they want to give some advice to the public. The doctor explains what Asthma is, and what its causes are: in general they are associated with some kind of allergy factors. A mother of 2 children with asthma talks about the problems of looking after them and gives some advices. Monica Pontin was in her 30s when she discovered that she was suffering from asthma and she talks about her frigtening experiences of being short of breath. [Box 7]
