Trevor Jesty was invited to join County Team - had not previously considered cricket as career. Out - ... just a moment. TRACK 3- In - Trevor Jesty ... Has not pushed own son into cricket - he prefers swimming. Likes to entertain crowd while playing cricket. Wife is ambitious on his behalf - gives him determination after bad day. Out - ... and score. TRACK 4- In - Yes it does happen ... Feels stress of playing cricket. Family is interested, wife knows a lot about game. Out - ... game is finished. TRACK 5- In - My guest this ... Finds it difficult to relax in time off especially since vice-captain. Has never used sports psychologist. Does not play much other sport. Out - ... during the wintertime, anyway. TRACK 6- In - If you were not ... If he was not a cricketer would play golf - are playing for yourself rather than team. Occasionally are team talks to plan strategy - more might be beneficial. West Indian success due mainly to exceptional side. Out - ... in a moment. TRACK 7- In - You mentioned ... Made first century against Gloucester at Southampton, would like to play in Test Match. Thinks more experienced players would have improved current Test team against West Indies. Out - ... more experienced players. TRACK 8- In - It must be ... Batsman must have ability to play against fast bowlers. Thinks there comes a time when cricketer should retire. Out - ... against them, yes. TRACK 9- In - About your future ... Thinks he has 5 or 6 years more playing - after that would like to coach schoolboys. Not sure of what else he would like to do. Out - ... thank you very much. BRIAN HOWE In - My guest ... Vocalist for Ted Nugent. Better known in America. Wanted to be singer while at school. Needed lot of determination to do this. Favourite band was Beatles - great influence on him. Expelled from school for fortnight because of Beatles haircut. Paul McCartney writes unforgettable songs - John Lennon wrote songs to make you think. Recently met Mick Jones of Foreigner. Loves American lifestyle - everything more professional. Returns regularly to Portsmouth, but intends living in America. Sees himself continuing to sing rock n roll. Has never been instrumentalist. Played with band Shy but wanted to progress from there. First started singing at about 7 years old. Has had a variety of jobs. Moved to London in 1980 after finished with Shy. Joined group White Spirit - wrote songs - demonstration tape heard by Ted Nugent in America - invited him to join band in America. Started recording. Will co-write next album. Believes a good tune makes a good song. Broke rib on recent visit to Portsmouth while playing football. Would like to have been known in Britain. Touring in America hard work. Road crew get up to a lot of antics. Wife Debbie joins him in America every so many weeks with son Michael. Met wife in Portsmouth restaurant. Radio better in America - many more commercial radio stations with much more choice. Out - ... Thank you Andy. [Box 7]
