MORNING THOUGHTS NO.2 [Series RADIO VICTORY ARCHIVE] A continuing series on religious topics, broadcast by Radio Victory. This tape contains a series of short readings of bible stories, transmitted from 28 August to 8 September 1978. TRACK 1- In - I thought this week ... Story of Esther. Weeklong feast at the palace of Sousa. King Aliasuerus demands his queen’s attendance. She refuses. The queen is to be sent away and a new queen chosen. Esther a servant lived in Sousa with Mordecai. She is persuaded to apply to be queen and receives training and becomes winner. The king loved her at first sight. The king appointed new vizier who was cruel and unscrupulous. Mordecai would not turn to him. The vizier persuaded the king to order the extermination of the Jews. Esther decides to intercede with king at the risk of her life and invites king to dinner two nights running. The vizier decides to kill Mordecai. The king finds out that Mordecai previously saved his life - orders vizier to reward him. Esther tells king that Jews including herself are to be killed. Vizier pleads with Esther to save his life.
