Description

The first cruise missile protest in Berkshire 3 weeks ago was a success. Another demonstration in front of the gates of Greenham Common this morning, mostly by women, when the second cruise missile convoy arrived from a run in Wiltshire. The Thames Valley Police escorted the vehicle that it could pass. Women were blocking the route and one of them jumped in front of the vehicle. The vehicle had to stop, and the police forced the woman to get out of the way. The police say they succeeded the operation to stop the protestors. [Box 5]
