This week is a special edition. Mike Matthews visits the village of Dummer, in Hampshire, to celebrate the marriage of His Royalty Prince Andrew to Miss Sarah Ferguson. One track with 7 interviews. 1- His first interview is with the father of the bride, Major Ronald Ferguson. He talks about the Polo Club, about the marriage of his daughter and about the village. 2- Mike Matthews goes to the home of Charles, born 59 years ago in this village. He talks about his memories of his childhood, about his father working in the woods making hurdles, etc. 3- Mike visits the home of a Major who is famous for shooting pigeons. He is a good shot, and he talks about the damage pigeons do and why we need to shoot them. 4- Visit to the Primitive Chapel Gallery, run by David. He is an artist, oil painter, and he also curates Art exhibitions for other local artists. He talks about the Chapel as it was 30 years ago, and how he has rennovated it. 5- A visit to the church and Matthews talks to the rector, Rev. Thomas. He talks about the church history which origins go back to the year 900 and talks about the village history. 6- The most impressive house in the village is the Dummer House and Matthews talks to the owner. He tells all the house history. 7- The last visit is to the home of Lyn, who has a great interest in the history of the village, and she explains the meaning of the village name: Dun, means hill; and mer means lake or pond. So, Dummer is the pool on the hill. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book. [Box 4]
