Description
This week, Mike Matthews visits Kintbury, a village that lies in West Berkshire, between Newbury and Hungerford, and is one mile off the A4. His first interview is with a lady that tells the story of the village. She talks about Barton Court where a former owner was thought to have thrown his illegitimate baby into the fire. Stories of ghosts, etc. Another interview with Delcy, who has a Gallery. She talks about the local artists, market, prices and customers. A third interview to Karin Evans, a lady originally from Wales. She owns a dairy farm and she talks about her life on the farm, explains how they used to deliver the milk in old times, and also delivering the medicines for the doctors. They made butter during the war. Others interviews with: Laura, artist, who uses oil paintings; then with a person from the Whiting Works. He talks about his memories in childhood. On the edge of Kintbury, there is a kind of SPA - The Health Hydro Centre, where people used to go there to loose weight, and nowadays, they go there just to relax. It is a friendly atmosphere and he talks with the lady who manages this place. The last interview is with Judith Kelly, that owns a listed house, and she tells the story of the House since 1822.
