Description
Mike Matthews reports on a series of villages talking with different people and getting to know the stories. The first visit is to Ipsden - a village 9 miles northwest of Reading, in Oxfordshire, just and getting to the A74. His first interview is with Anne, the Headmistress of the School. She talks about the school in early times - 1800s. She is keen on animals, she keeps the animals inside the classroom and each child has one animal to look after. On Track 2, he talks with Michael Reed, a member of a family who has lived in Ipsden for a long time, since 1404. But, in 1600, the village had a mass migration to America. Mike Matthews talks also with other people that tell mysterious stories about village houses. On Track 3, a local farmer Steven Hart talks about breeding sheep. He developed a particular type of sheep that produces twins every year, for a more profitable business. Another interview with Hazel, incharged for the Zoo in the village. She talks about animals and birds. [Box 4]
