Mike Matthews talks to Robert Jackson, a conservative European MP. Born September 24, 1946, was raised in Northern Rhodesia [now Zambia] and educated at Falcon College in Rhodesia and St Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he rose to the presidency of the Oxford Union. In European Parliament election in 1979 he was elected as a Member of the European Parliament [MEP] for Upper Thames. It is four years now since he began working in Brussels. He talks about his life and his career. [Box 4]
