- Special units of women police are to be set up in the Thames Valley to investigate rapes and other sex offences. But senior officers deny they are being established as a result of tonight’s controversial documentary in the BBC’s series on the force. The episode will show a woman who claims she has been raped being subjected to tough questioning by detectives. Assistant Chief Constable John Reddington says the force is expecting to come under fire from women’s groups over the way the woman is treated. [Box 3]
