Description

An adaptation for radio of the last essays of John Richard Jefferies, poet and writer. He was born on the 6th of November of 1848 at Colt, Wiltshire. In 1866 became a journalist. He had a hope to become a novelist, but his best books are: The Wood Magic [1881], then Bevis, The Story of a Boy, and The Story of My Heart. Died on 14 August 1887, aged 39, of Festula probably a consequence of TB. The readings are the distilation of the best of his essays Field and Hedgerow. Includes literary works.
