- This is a special programme to mark the centenary of one of Lancashires most famous landmarks. The pier at St.Annes-on Sea was 100 years old in June 1985. The programme traces the history of the pier in words and music and includes clips of some of the artists who appeared in the pier pavilion, which was destroyed by fire in 1974.
