DHSS Nomads

Title
DHSS Nomads
Date
1985
Description
This is the story of some of the young people under 26 who, because of the new DHSS rules, are being forced to roam the country from town to town. Otherwise they stay put where they are on less than £26 a week. That is the choice given to people who are unemployed and living in a bed and breakfast paid by the DHSS. Mark Halliley’s report highlights the stark choice: become a DHSS nomad or turn to crime and/or prostitution on the streets of our cities.
