- Three hundred years ago on September 3rd (1685), Dame Alice Lisle of Moyles Court near Ringwood was executed for giving shelter to two supporters of the Monmouth Rebellion. Now Vesper Hunter, an author who used to live at Moyles Court and whose life bears an uncanny resemblance, in many aspects, to Dame Alices, has written a diary of one year in Alice Lisles life. In this programme Sean Street talks to Vesper Hunter about the diary, the similarities between both womens lives, and Vesper Hunter reads extracts from her book.
