Description
The compelling story of battling Bessie Braddock and her husband Jack, who dominated the Liverpool Labour Party for half a century. The story begins with Bessie’s early political education, follows her tireless campaign on behalf of the poor, the unemployed and badly housed in the grim inter-war years building to a climax with Bessie’s election to Parliament in 1945. ‘Bessie’ was written by Ray Herman, best known for his stage adaptation of ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?' The role of Bessie is played by stage and television actress, Sarah Badel. Episode 3 and 4
